There is nothing about the Orchid Recovery Center that is typical of a rehabilitation center, other than the fact that they do indeed still treat alcohol and drug abuse. However, it is based in sunny South Florida, rather than in some depressing atmosphere. It is also exclusively dedicated to the rehabilitation of female substance abusers. Why is this? Dr. Dodge’s system of rehabilitation depends on creating a sense of trust amongst female patients by making them interdependent.

Orchid does this by encouraging them to rely on each other, in work, life, and play. They also utilize a diverse collection of possible treatments, including, but not limited to, healing art therapy, dynamic group work, psychodrama treatment, family sculpting and twelve step recovery.
